Article Marketing Really Works Folks

If you are not writing and submitting articles to directories, I’m afraid you are giving away a lot of visitors (your potential buyers and subscribers) to your competition. Writing and submitting articles for traffic really works folks.

A couple of days ago, I was searching about more information about a niche, and I read several articles. One of these articles was quite good, and when I checked the date of submission… It was in 2005!

So now, almost five years later, the website’s owner is still getting traffic from his article.

How cool is that?

And if he is smart and repurposed his article for maximum profit, he made a few hundreds or a few thousands from just one article.

So where should you start if you never syndicated your articles before?

1. Obviously, the first step is to write an article for your own website. Then, you need to rewrite it and distribute it to article directories. The first place you want to go is ezinearticles.com.

2. Then, you need to submit to other directories, but you will need to rewrite your articles first. In other words, change the title (but make sure to keep your main keyword), and rewrite each of the paragraphs. As a rule of thumb, you want to make your other articles at least 30% unique.

3. Many so called article marketers “advise” that you write crappy article and make money. This works when you do mass article submission, but I do not recommend that you spread the ~~crap~~ world on the Internet.

The purpose of your article is to help your readers and deliver quality content. That’s why I like the new FTC rules. This is good for the consumer.

The truth is that most marketers are not “bad boys”… but when they are behind their computer (with nobody to tell them that what they are doing is bad), they turn to the dark side pretty quickly…

Article Marketer Now Distribute Your Articles and Content Crooner!

If you are an article marketing user, this service is now gone. I’ve been informed by one of my team members, since he used to distribute my article via this service.

The first thing he did was switching to isnare.com. Then, he start using Distributeyourarticles.com since it’s the exact same as article marketer.

You have the choice. You can use Content crooner or Distribute your articles. I don’t know for you, but personally, I’d chose the last one. Just for the name. Distribute your articles sounds better for me.

I just created a brand new website, and right now, I am adding new articles, following my principle (The right way to make money with article marketing)

Here is what I did so far:

1. I wrote a new page for my own website

2. I added a new message in my autoresponder

3. I used propeller to get fast indexing

4. I submitted an article to ezinearticles.com

Next, I’ll let my team members do the following:

Article marketing automation, backlinks from the web 2.0, social bookmarking, blog comments and other blog posts.

So here it is.

Ezine Account Stat – 3,688 Article Views For April 2009

Today, I received an email from ezine article with my monthly article performance summary. I think it’s the first time, it seems to be new. I may have missed the previous once, so I don’t know.

Article marketing is one of my numerous traffic generation sources. Below, you can see some of my stats, I got 3,688 article views for the month of April alone.

The important question… How many clicks? I get around %30, so I got around 1000 visitors to my articles, divided across several niches…

It’s interesting because I’ve had old articles doing very well, while the link are not up to date. I need to change that to get the most of my efforts.

Here is the data gathered for April 2009.

Niche Marketing Case Study – Part 6 (22 Jan 2009)

It’s crazy, as I am writing this, I am wondering why I didn’t download the Why would Seth Godin do wp plugin yet.

1. Introduction the the niche marketing case study

Ok, I already started with my spyware website. I wrote the home page… and I chose to promote the noadware software (that can be found at noadware.net). From the previous lessons, you already know how to find a product that sell (just choose for those with the most gravity in your category, and then, have a deeper look. Would you – or someone you know – buy from this site?).

This noadware software is selling since 2003, and still have a strong gravity. But the factor who pushed me to choose it is that it won’t “harm” other people’s computer… I strongly believe that making money is helping people, not scamming them. Later on, I will probably have a look at other products, along with syware doctor and super anti spyware, but for now, I need to get started.

I went with the direct linking (bypass surgery) route. I mean that I am not sending visitors to the clickbank merchant’s page.

I allow people to download the free trial directly from my site.

I’ve never done it before, but I’ve found that many competitors are doing it, so I think it’s working (the only way to be sure is to test this myself…)

This is an advanced strategy, and you need to stick to the “normal” clickbank promotion way for now.

Note: One of my subscribers asked me if I was going to show the URL in his comment. It’s a good question. I replied that I may show the site later on, or I may not show it at all (I’m not sure about this, just thinking about it).

What I will do is posting all the stats (traffic, sales, where I advertise, etc).

If you want an example, the formula I am following for this site isn’t really different than the one I am following for my affiliate marketing site:

http://www.mynetmarketingland.com. (it’s certainly not the most beautiful website on the net, but never mind, it works pretty well like this…)

… and the blog http://mynetmarketingland.com/blog1/ (the very same blog you are reading right now)

I earned thousands upon thousands of dollars from this ONE site only, and hopefully this will continue.

MODULE 3. Getting Content for my website

A. Adding at least 10 pages

Before you read further: Here is the software that my students use to build their sites. Believe me, I don’t know anything easier than this to buid websites: The Design Dashboard

I want to have a total of 30+ pages on my websites because I want to get traffic from Google and other search engines.

You have 3 ways to add content to your site:

1. Write it yourself (no comment)

2. Hire others to write for you (I find them on forums and elance.com)

3. Private Label Right (PLR) Content (I have tons of these, they are easy to find in the search engines)

I use these 3 ways (right now, I am using number #1, I personally write my blog posts).

As for the spyware niche, I already wrote the home page, and I will use number #2 and #3 from now, because I don’t have the time to do it (I have other projects going on), and it’s not the best way to grow my business anyway (I’ll talk about business growth later on, when I finished the case study. From now, all you need is starting with a proven system to make money).

B. Starting Backlinks and traffic strategy

Many people are getting crazy because Google take time to index their site.

And you know what?

I don’t care! All I want from now is getting backlinks, and starting to drive traffic to my site. It will be indexed soon anyway. I’ve made tons of money from sites that weren’t even indexed in Google!

The very first thing I do whenever I start a new site is… Submitting articles. This enough will get your site indexed pretty fast!

I generally submit to ezinearticles.com first. I do not submit one article… I submit 10 or 15 in a single day for my main keyword.

Here is my traffic stats to date (3 of my own visits!)

Time to research for 10 keywords

Note: Don’t get mad with this, the more keywords you research, the better you will do. There is NO magic method to find keywords.

I use nichebot.com and the techniques I am showing you right now:

Keyword Research Step #1. Google Keyword Tool External

Now, we want to get some keywords for oue own website, and also to submit articles to ezinearticle (EZA), all you need to do is to go to the Google External tool, and grab some keywords.

I’ll go more in depth about keyword research soon, so stay tuned.

(I just pasted what I did in B. Google Keyword Tool External in part 3 of the case study, while I was searching for the spyware numbers.

All you need to do is to check the numbers for other keywords (for me, those under spyware, and also the related keywords at the bottom of the screen) exactly like I did for the keyword spyware, and then, check the competition in Google.

Here is what I did:

For this, I am going to use Google Keyword Tool External.

I want to know how much money people are willing to pay to be on Google paid results.

Generally, the more they pay per click, the better the market!

Advertisers are willing to pay money because they know that they will earn more in return, otherwise, they don’t spend.

1. Type the word “spyware” in the search box, like I did on Day 2.

Once I got the results, I will do the following:

2. Click on the drop box menu in the elipse (Choose Colums to display), and then, select: “Show Estimated Avg. CPC”

Important Note: You are going to do something different here, so pay attention. Click on the picture to enlarge it, and you will notice a drop down meny box (under the red elipse) with the word broad match. Click on it and just select phrase match.

Now, you have the same screenshot,

BUT,

As you can see, there is a new column (in the red elipse): the costs per click (see below).

Important: You need to get the cost per click in dollars. If you are not in the US, make sure that you:

a. Use the drop box menu (above the arrow on the picture above), and then,

b. Choose US Dollars.

c. Once you’ve done this, click “Recalculate” and you will get the CPC in dollars.

3. Then, write down (or save in excel) the cost per click (CPC)

So for me, I will write: Spyware $3.30

Step #2: Research Organic Competition

Now, I need to find out how many competing sites are there (the sites in the black rectangle from the picture above):

1. I go to Google.com

2. I type spyware in the search box

3. I write the number (in the red ellipse)

If I was doing this manually, I would check for these keywords (under spyware):

etc, …

Make sure that you write down the results in Excell or (like me), in a simple notepad file.

Those keywords are pretty competitive. When you are starting, it’s better to choose keywords with less than 300,000 competitors on Google, like this one:

Try to choose what is called “buy keywords” because those keywords like the two above will make you more money although they have less searches than the first set of keywords.

Keyword Research Step #2. Researching your competitors keyword

I like this one because it’s easy.

Obviously, your competitors already made some keyword research. All you need to do is have a look at the keyword they chose, and make your research to find out if they are profitable.

Keyword Research Step #3. Ezine Articles (ezinearticles.com)

All these bum marketers (hmm, almost all of them) carry out basic keyword research before writing articles to promote affiliate products.

All you need to do is to search for articles in your category and get the keywords they use

I like having a look at the keywords, they don’t choose them slightly…

Keyword Research Step #4. Forums in your niche

You can find some gems there, “hot buttons” keywords.

As you can see, there are tons of ways to search for keywords, and I only gave you a few of them…

But it’s enough for now. All you need is to find 10 of them with at least 1000 searches per month, and less than 300,000 competitors.

I Create Ebooks With My Articles And Earn $3000 Minimum!

I have hundreds of Internet marketing articles all over the web, and hundreds of articles in a few other niches as well. At the time of this writing, I am not far for 1000 articles on dozens of different websites.

Those articles do several things for me once I submitted them to directories …

They build my lists (not an impressive rate, but it’s ok)

Your articles will make me even more money if you add them in your OWN ebook.

In fact, you can use your articles in an ebook you want to sell, or for a viral pdf. You can also use them to give a free report and build your list with a squeeze page.

May be you are asking yourself … But what if someone find my articles on the web after I sold him the ebook?

Well, the answer to this is that you make it easier for him to get everything he needed in the same plage. You saved him a lot of time.

Plus … people will pay more attention to the information you offer because they paid for it. When they read an article, they may forget it a day after. However, they will remember what they read in your book.

And finally, you are going to add more tips, secrets and strategies within your ebook. You’ll give what you didn’t reveal in your articles.

How I Make Thousands Of Dollars Submitting Articles!

Today, we talk about a strategy that made me thousands of dollars since I got started online. Writing and submitting articles to directories for profit.

Submitting to article directory sites like ezinearticles (for traffic and backlinks)

In fact, I got started with this method of promotion because I couldn’t afford to pay for click. I started with a free blogger blog, and article submission to ezinearticles.com and other websites.

Article marketing is an art, and although many people try their hand at this “game”, they don’t make enough money with it. Some of them just use bum marketing, Travis Sago’s technique for quick commission, but they don’t really understand how to make this work.

Let me give you a few of my article marketing secrets:

1. Submit a lot of articles (1 or 2 articles a day won’t make it)

2. Use the right anchor

3. Link to your OWN website in the bio box

4. Look at what work for your competition (like you would do with ppc)

5. Continually submit articles (the more exposure, the more money you will make)

6. Repurpose your articles

7. Link to EVERY page of your website (most people just link to their homepage)

8. Link to a Squeeze Page

The Internet is a big article, the more articles you get out there, the more money you earn. It’s that simple.

2 Amazing Ways To Profit From Your Blog And Articles!

Blogging is my secret weapon to attract traffic to my websites (by the way, I wrote an ebook that describes the EXACT method I used to get a Top 10 Ranking for the keyword ‘affiliate marketing’, and many others).

I’m not telling that it is the only purpose of my posts. No folks. What I mean is that if you have a website, you need to have a blog.

Your posts are just short articles. In fact, I often start my blog posts from scratch, and then I take them and make them longer to create a full article that I can add to my site, or submit to article directories.

Adding new posts to your blog.

I even created an ebook from my blog posts. I find that it’s really easy to write an ebook by posting to your blog. Try it, you’ll be amazed, it’s really powerful because it doesn’t seem that you are writing an ebook.

How to quickly create an ebook from your blog posts?

Just write for your audience, and then, later take all your blog posts, and voila! tweak here and there (or outsource), and you can have your own ebook in less than one week.

Here are the main benefits of blogging…

On a seo point of view, Google and other search engines really love blog, and they will send a lot of traffic your way.

Another point is the interactivity with your subscribers and first time visitors. People will see your content, and if they like it, they’ll optin to your newsletter (for this, you need to add an optin form in your side bar).

It’s a quick and simple way to send messages to your list. Just send an email with a link to your blog, and you are done.

Remember, the more blog posts (articles) on your blog, the more money you are going to make.

How To Re-purpose Your Articles For Maximum Profits!

In my previous article marketing post, I explained that every Internet marketer is also an article marketer, even if his business is just selling ebooks via ppc.

Today, I am going to show you more ways to use your articles for profit.

An article is more than a simple article because you can re-purpose it in multiple ways to earn money. Let’s see what you can do with your articles …

Here are some them:

Adding new content to your own website
Adding new posts to your blog.
Making posts in forums
Submitting to article directory sites like ezinearticles (for traffic and backlinks)
Writing your very own ebook (or audio ebook)
Give content to affiliates that promote your ebook
Adding content to your newsletter
Adding new content to your membership site

I was tempted to add press releases, but a press release is not just an article.

There is another point that I never used yet:

9. Create a viral video

Many people use this last point with great success, by re-purposing their articles as a video and posting them on youtube.

As you can see, article marketing is way more complex than just submitting articles to directories.

In fact, every time you write an article, you should think about the 9 points above. Start with the end in mind.

How To Make Money With Your Articles?

I’m going to make a series of posts explaining how I (and many other marketers by the way) earn money with article marketing.

Many people claim that it doesn’t work and that it’s a waste of time, but this is not true. When you think about it, the Internet is nothing more than a mix of articles.

Content = Money. This is a proven formula.

First, if articles were a waste of time, why all the plr sites like plrpro, article underground and other private label sites are so successful?

Heck, I read that plrpro, Mark Lindsay’s site has more than 30,000 members.

The only reason is that marketers need articles to make money.

Secondly, and this is in relation with my first point above: You need articles for your websites.

In fact, you are using articles whenever you participate in forums or add a new post to your blog, and also for your dozens of niche websites out there.

You don’t know it yet, but if you have a blog or a website, or you are just promoting your ebooks, you are an Internet and … article marketer.
