If you want to earn more money online, there are a couple of basics things that you need to do.
Today, I am going to do a quick analyze… what does it takes to create a successful blog?
In fact, you don’t need a lot. As I always say, keep your marketing simple and you will do well.

Let’s see what James Schramko is doing on this blog.
1. Smart Blog Design Upgrade
James recently upgraded his blog design, but he didn’t do it like most people do. Instead, he asked to his subscribers to choose a design for him. Here is the post: Help Me Choose A Blog Design. Pretty smart.
Since your blog is part of your marketing plan, why not asking your subscribers?
2. Contact and About Me page
This is important for your readers and your subscribers. Don’t make it hard for them to find you. After all, you are here to help them?
3. List Building with a FREEBIE
James is offering a Free Report to his visitors, and he is building his list at the same time. By the way, the free report is good, and I advise that you read it ASAP.
4. Replying To Comments
He replies to his visitors and subscribers comments. It’s good to build a relationship. Many marketers just ignore their comments. This is a big mistake in my opinion. This shows that you don’t really care?
5. Affiliate Marketing
Obviously, James know what he is doing when it comes to affiliate marketing. He is promoting the market samurai keyword research tool (excellent piece of software by the way).
If you are in affiliate marketing for a while, you will notice that he promotes with redirects. This is great and I recommend this as a way to make MORE commissions.
He is also promoting with banners in the right sidebar.
6. Product Catalog
James also showcase his own products (there’s a link at the top of his blog).
7. Excellent Posts
And last but not least, James create good content, and he is one of the rare blog that I like to read from time to time. Good content, mixed with affiliate promotions and other personal stories.
