3. Upsell a low cost flagship product on your download page
4. Follow up with original and useful material

Let me tell you a story (to prove my point above) …
I remember buying a short ebook on this subject last year (I took action on what I learned right away), and I added 400+ subscribers to one of my list in a matter of days.
Even better … the giveaway event got my first membership started.
The technique I used for the membership site was from another product.
So what I did in a nutshell:
1. Bought an ebook that teaches how to make money with free giveaways
2. Registered immediately with a giveaway and added my product
3. Added links to my $19,95/month membership site (with 3 months trial).
A few words about this membership site. It was amazing… Members loved the content, and many of them stay members until I decided to close it (because it was too much work… providing new reports every single month. Yeah, I’m a lazy worker, and I wasn’t really outsourcing at this time)
I never start to promote this site, and I had approximately 70 paid members… it all started with a free giveaway event.

Why waiting? I advise that you get a product and upload it right away to the free giveaway member area.
