Thank you Lillea, it's the proof that forum marketing is working.

In fact, anyone who enter a forum TODAY in ANY niche and is a REAL expert in his niche can make a killing by helping others.

I totally agree that it can be tricky to not seem like a spammer when posting in other niches.

Being helpful to others in a forum and including a link to one's website or blog in one's signature file is an approach that can really work well over time for sure!

For example, for a few years I spent a lot of time posting and researching on nutrition related forums. If I liked someone's posts, or they caught my attention in any way (even if it was for negative reasons!) I would be extra curious about them. If they had a signature file with a link, I'd usually click on it. Sometimes their website or blog was nutrition-related, sometimes not, but it was always interesting.

One member, a very helpful and smart guy named Chris MasterJohn, now sells nutrition related reports and has a very comprehensive website. He also makes money writing articles for a nutrition related magazine and does some public speaking, too. He got those opportunities by being involved in nutrition largely as a volunteer at first. Pretty cool.
