Affiliate marketing Course: Forum Marketing

November 25th, 2006 · 8 Comments

My affiliate “protege” is still working on his project, and we added a new weapon to his afiliate arsensal: Forum marketing.

Forums, discussion boards and newsgroup are powerful affiliate marketing resources, and you do not want to miss that.

I personally browse various forums approximatively 1 hour per day. Forums are great for a lot of reasons.

Here is the top reasons why you should start forum marketing today:

  • Meet a lot of affiliates, and make new contacts
  • Get advices from experts in your field
  • Know the needs and concern of your market
  • Increase traffic to your website (or blog)
  • Build your opt-in list
  • Make a lot of affiliate sales
  • Get hundreds of backlinks to your sites (SEO)

These are excellent reasons to start forum marketing today. You must have a lot of free time though.

Update: My protege made his $1.00 with adsense.

I’ll tell you more about forum marketing soon…

    Management.
If you are just starting out, I guarantee that you will need to follow a lot of different

strategies. For those of us who are not really into learning, I’m afraid there’s little I

can do to help. However, those who have been constantly working on new products and

discussing new ideas with me have always been privvy to new things.

One thing that Dee Ferdinand, a fellow internet marketer from Indonesia mentioned to me when

I was in Jakarta this past week was this: share everything you know because few people are

going to take action anyway. That was quite interesting considering how I’m actually going

to help around 40+ people learn to take action this coming weekend.

It’s really a question about knowing who you are and what you can do. All your passions and

dreams are nothing but a figment of your imagination if you don’t take action. But there’s

something special about this process. It doesn’t start with a home study course, or an ebook

or learning about the latest new-fangled strategy. It begins with understanding how you

invest in yourself. Most of the time, people talk about the investment in oneself merely as

a gimmick to get you to buy. In reality, there are some things you need to know, while there

are other things that you don’t need to know at all. If you knew how to put your motivation

on overdrive, there’s nothing that can stop you. If you knew how to generate great ideas,

there’s nothing stopping you from building wonderful businesses.

So, I could tell you to go get webhosting, but that’s not necessarily always the most

important thing to do. You can go grab products that are highly recommended. For instance,

you could learn to develop instant audio products. To add more value, you could actually

even generate more value through transcriptions. You could even learn to generate income by

building a list of subscribers. In addition, if you want to get other people to promote your

product, grab this affiliate tracking system. Once you are on with one product, you can

literally build other products as you see fit. You might even want a traffic boost using

    this system.

Do you see how this works? It’s all about the know-how in creating it, but you’re going to

have to build the system by following through yourself. You need to take action on this. Of

course, this is a simplistic way of doing it. Is there an easier way of doing it? I’m not

sure. But I think that unless you test out one way right from the start (or unless you have

guidance from my Internet Marketing Academy Jumpstart program). Nobody can tell you what to

do, but anyone can do what I’ve just mentioned. The systems are already out there. Explore

on your own, or find a reliable mentor!

Forum marketing can work but you need to be careful that you aren’t just spamming the forum as those regular members of the forum will call you out and can get you banned. If you are going to use this method, hang around the forum for awhile and actually contribute positive posts and you should be ok. Just tread lightly and try not to upset the regulars.
